Hi folks,
Just a quick update to let you all know that work on DateLine 2 is proceeding well. We are really excited about the way it is coming together, and we can't wait to get it finished so you guys can get it on your desktops.
New features we have added so far include:
- Scrolling DateLine
- Gradient editor for element backgrounds
- New Theme Manager interface
- More editable theme parameters
- Mini, small, regular and large DateLine sizes
Soon we'll be getting to work on adding:
- Dock-like hiding behaviour
- Read and write access to events and tasks
- Improved events and tasks interface
I have attached a few screenshots so you have an idea of where we are up to.
You can support our efforts towards DateLine 2 by buying DateLine on the Mac App Store.
Thanks for your support!

Hi Netz,
Progress has been good, but not as fast as I'd originally hoped. I'm aiming for an end of the year release at this point.
The main thing that is slowing progress is that this is a ground-up rewrite. In order to bring it to feature parity with DateLine 1, I need to completely reimplement several years worth of code, which is not going as quickly as I expected. I may need to release DateLine 2 lacking some features in order to get people using it, and add them back as needed and requested.
That said, it is looking really good and around 75% of the way to completion.
Thanks for your enquiry :)
