    I used to have Dateline embedded in the desktop or at desktop level. Following a clean install of Lion though I don't seem to be able to replicate this. Am I missing something obvious or has Lion made it impossible for this behaviour to be an option?

    Sadly, you are correct. Changes in Lion have made Desktop Icons level unusable, at least for now. Basically, windows at desktop icons level no longer receive mouse events, and therefore the popup Events windows would never be triggered. It also messed up in Mission Control.

    Regretfully, I have removed the feature from DateLine 1.4.1.

    Would it be possible to re-enable the feature, with the warning/provisio that events window doesn't work? That's exactly the behaviour I want, and actually bought DateLine for - an embedded on the desktop reminder of what's going on today. I could probably make GeekTool do what I want, but for the price of Dateline I couldn't be bothered taking the time.
