I am learning Japanese and using the "Don't break the chain" method i.e. study at least once a day. http://lifehacker.com/298908/follow-seinfelds-advice-at-dont-break-the-chain
So I am using dateline with a single iCal calendar to track that I have completed each day. This is a great visual motivator, but it could be a little better.
I would love to be able to change the color of the entire element, instead of just the border or marker.
That way I can get a very clear & powerful overview of the previous days I have succeeded in keeping the chain going.
This would also be beneficial for people using dateline to get a quick overview of when they have no appointments and are available to schedule something.
Would love to hear if this is possible & whether you are willing to implement this.
Either way, thanks for dateline, it's been a great motivator for me.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your thoughtful request. It is something I have thought about in the past, but abandoned.
I agree it would look great, and it would be useful, especially in a case like yours. However there are a number difficult ambiguities to overcome: primarily, this would only really work if there were a single calendar/event per day. What colour should a day element be if there are multiple events?
I have had difficulty seeing a way arouynd this issue. If you have any ideas, please let me know.
In the forthcoming DateLine 2 update, I have added a more detailed marker view, which allows display of multiple events in a tiny bar graph indicating calendar color and duration. Hopefully this will suffice for you.
Cheers
Alex
