DateLine App Store Upgrade special offer
  • alexalex March 2011

DateLine has recently been launched on the App Store.

The App Store offers many advantages over traditional Mac software distribution. Installation is greatly improved, and updates are convenient and easy. For developers, it offers exciting new opportunities for reaching customers, and new customers mean a way to support the future development of the apps we love.

Over the next few months, we are intending to move DateLine to an App Store exclusive licensing system.

This means that at some point, the indie version of DateLine (current version 1.0.0) will stop receiving software updates. You can of course continue using the version that you have, nothing will stop working. New features however will only be added to those copies of DateLine which were purchased from the App Store.

I really appreciate all the support that I have received over the past 18 months from so many of you. I would like to offer those of you who have supported DateLine during it's beta phase the opportunity to upgrade to the App Store versions 1.1 and above.

If you purchased DateLine independently through the MachineCodex web store, email me with the PayPal email address you used to purchase DateLine, and I will refund you 50% of the price you originally paid for it through PayPal.

This offer is valid from March 8 through March 30 2011. It only applies to licenses purchased through the MachineCodex web store, not to bundle purchases such as MUPromo.

    • UPDATE: Offer extended. See below.

The link above; "email me" generates an invalid email address (on my Mac/Apple's Mail.app (v4.4): < //admin@machinecodex.com>. Presumably, the email address should be: .

    Hi Alex!
I just bought DateLine some months ago to support a beta app and was quite angry to see that that version won't receive any major upgrades.
However, the 50% refund is quite fair, I suppose.
100% for users who rebuy the app on the Mac App Store would be consequent, but I'm willing to see those 2.5$ as a little bit of extra-support ;-)
    Cheers,
    Paul

continuous development of software means permanent work.
what, if you asked your employer for your monthly wages and he would refuse it, saying that he already paid you a few months ago...
    (just a thought;-)
